Another Verizon iPhone rumor: Could be announced June 22nd

by: Brian Osborne

Hopefully Verizon Wireless will be getting a version of the iPhone soon.
After all, the notion of a Verizon iPhone has been getting
lots of free publicity lately thanks to rumors and speculation.
Now MacDaily News is reporting on a rumor that a next-generation
iPhone for Verizon may be announced on June 22nd.

Some evidence suggesting the rumor is credible points to the fact that
the conference center booked by Apple is the same one where three previous
generations of the iPhone were announced.
Others are also pointing to evidence that Verizon iPhones are already in the
wild based on data from Flurry Analytics. Though, if you read the report about
that evidence from Engadget they have updated the article to state that Flurry believes the Verizon data is actually Verizon DSL or FiOS subscribers using their iPhones over Wi-Fi.

I’d like to think that the June 22nd date holds out some hope that a Verizon Wireless iPhone is imminent, but I won’t hold my breath. At this point, unless the words come out of the mouth of Steve Jobs I won’t believe it. If Apple doesn’t believe the time is right for an iPhone on the Verizon Wireless network then I will let them live with their own stupidity. After all, Verizon Wireless only has a mere 91.2 million customers who may be interested in it.
